We are on our way!
By · CommentsOur first project is in the works. We have decided on a name for our LLC – Ladies on the MOVE! There are 13 active LLC members, and we are ready to get movin’! Meetings concerning how to find our project and how to fund the project are underway! We are looking for a 3/2 single home that will sell in the $150 – $160′s. A home with cosmetic repairs, nothing too serious. For our first project, we didn’t want to get too deep in rehab. Neighborhood is still up in the air, but aggressively looking at the Westbank. We haven’t set a hard-core deadline to get the project complete, and we all have various ideas of how long this will actually take, but general consensus is 6 to 7 months. Our clock is tickin’ - we know we can get it done!
Look for one of us at the next general NOREIA meeting, we would love to talk to you about our project and progress!
Any interested ladies out there, it may be too late to join in this LLC, but you are more than welcome to observe our progress, join our group and come to the meetings. Who knows you may want to join us the next time!

By · CommentsDid you know we have a new Ladies Only Investing group starting up? That’s right, their first meeting is tonight, May 6th. They have some great ideas to get the group started and I’m sure once they all get together they’ll have a ton of fun. The initial plan is to purchase a house, renovate it and sell it, of course for a profit. I can’t wait to see their progress. Maybe we can even get their project manager to blog about their project.
Did you know that our May meeting is going to be all locals talking about deals they are doing right now today? These are not the same “experts” that you see up there all of the time. These are some of the members you see seated in the meetings each month right next to you. They aren’t doing anything different than anyone else except that they are taking action. Come hear their stories and ask questions of real folks doing deals in New Orleans today.
Did you know that June is going to be a special month? Not only is it the birthday month of a certain NOREIA board member (me) but Andy Heller will be here for TWO special events. First, Andy will be our guest speaker at our June 17th meeting. Then Andy will be back on Saturday June 26th for a special Saturday Seminar at Colonial Country Club. Andy is famous for making lots of money with bank owned properties. You won’t want to miss him.

Tax Day Meeting
By · CommentsWe hope you all enjoyed the meeting last night. We also hope you may have learned something or at least you took away a small tidbit you can use in your own investing business. As we saw last night, proper evaluation of property is crucial. You can’t make money if you don’t buy it right.
So what’s on tap for May? Well, stay tuned, I’ll have an update soon but I think you’ll find the speaker relevant and informative for today’s real estate market.
Oh, and check out the “Ladies Only” page. The women are forming a subgroup and they have set the date for their first meeting. They have some big plans and it should be a learning experience for all involved. Who knows, they might even make a little money while they’re at it.
